Little mini-story I wrote about my character in a roleplay.

Read and respond please ^^

Hiroki sat in his room.

The darkness seeped through all corners - the walls, the corners, even the closet was nearly a pit of darkness. Sure, there was a light in the room, but he never used it. The only light was a candle that he held close to his face.

"Why?"

The near silent whisper coming from the pained boy caused a lonely tear to drip down his cheek. Placing his lips deathly close to the flickering candle, he blew out the only source of light in the room.

Lifting his hand, he pulled the cloak he wore further over his face, masking the inner injury that he held. "Why did she have to lose her memory?" he whispered, "It's all my fault..."

He only blamed himself because he was there with her. He believed it was all his fault, being that he was the one that asked her to get his wrappings.

Though the physical wounds were still there - cuts, scrapes, and bruises, they weren't nearly as painful as the sorrow he had to endure. As Hiroki placed the candle gently on his nightstand, he began to get up slowly, stepping over to the insignia of chalk on the ground. He knelt down, a tear falling onto the white lines, which he brushed away into a powdery puff.

He gently grabbed the candle, placing it in the center of the insignia. He lit it up once again and began to cast an incantation.

'Hiroki... what's wrong, my son...?' stated a voice softly.

His eyes were closed and he gently wiped the wetness from his eyes. "Mother..." he whispered, "I'm scared."

He could feel his hair ruffling slightly under his cloak, as if a hand was touching him, but nothing was there. "What if she never gets her memory back?" he whispered, his head falling forward in a slump.

'It will... it will just take time... have hope Hiroki...' he was told, a soft sigh in the voice.

Hiroki closed his eyes tighter and said, "I can't... it's impossible... the girl I love doesn't remember me... and it hurts too much..." lifting a hand and gently gripping the cloak where his heart was, "It's tearing me apart... that she's the only living person that I care about..." Maybe that last statement wasn't true, being that there was Rena, but the feeling was still there.

He felt a kiss to the forehead by the spirit and she spoke, 'Do not beat yourself over this Hiroki. I will always be watching over you. I'll be waiting for your smile when her memory returns.'

The voice faded out, and the candlelight flickered out. He placed his head in his hands and sobbed painfully...
